Chestnut Square by MidPen Housing, located at the corner of Chestnut and North P Streets, will provide 69 one-bedroom and 2 studio rental apartments for seniors aged 62+. Rents will be affordable for low, very low, and extremely low-income seniors. Thirty units will receive Project-Based Section 8 vouchers so that seniors won’t pay more than 30% of their gross income towards rent. Chestnut Square community will offer residents high quality, shared open spaces, close to supermarkets, transit stops, retail and restaurants in the downtown area. Chestnut Square Senior will welcome residents in June 2019.
Information sessions on how to apply will be held on January 16, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Avenue. Applications will be available in late January / early February 2019.
