The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Explorer Post #933 is opening up the application process for hiring Firefighter Explorers. The Fire Exploring Post #933 is a special interest post through the Boy Scouts of America and is sponsored by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Explorer Post recruits are individuals from 15 to 21 years of age who are interested in a career in the fire service. Explorer participants who are attending high school are required to maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average. This progressive Fire Service Post participates in many department and civic functions which include but are not limited to job oriented skills, educational drills, service to the community social and recreational activities as well as our own post meetings, drills and field trips.
General Post training sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday night from 1900-2100 hours at the LPFD Training Tower or Fire Station within the LPFD. All Probationary Explorers are required to attend three (3) sessions during their probation per month. All other Post members are required to attend at least two (2) training sessions per month. Dress code during the training sessions will be class B attire which will be provided to the Explorer upon successful completion of the hiring process. All PPE and materials issued to the Explorers are to be brought to every meeting and training drill.
Deadline for applications and resumes will be Monday December 2st at 1700 hours. We will be hosting the interviews and physical agility exams early December with a two weekend academy forecasted to be in February 2020.
